My Take On Whether Entrepreneurship Can Be Taught

There’s a pretty interesting battle going online between Vivek Wadhwa (nurture) and Mark Suster (nature) on whether entrepreneurship can be taught.

My short take:

I was going to write a much longer post about this, but Suster beat me to it (and much better than I would have done).  I strongly encourage you to read both articles by clicking on their names at the top of this post. (Note: their POV’s are from venture-backed technology startups.)

What are your thoughts?

You’re absolutely right … You’ve got to have the guts to start something on your own and stick with it in order for it to succeed. Only life’s lessons can teach that, not a book or an instructor. Some people are made to follow, some are made to lead. Both take strength, contrary to belief.
